Fumati Engineers is stepping up the game leading the metal fabrication engineering for larger infrastructure projects. Fumati has been on a growth trajectory. The company’s latest project, The Heart Stadium, a Yadah football facility by Prophet Magaya is a marvel of engineering. It is incredibly heart-warming to see local companies showing such capabilities and taking on such engineering feat.
Undoubtedly, structural steelwork has long been preferred by most construction engineers, builders, contractors, and structural steel fabricators. From the ground up, structural steel is used in almost every phase of construction. Consider bridges, buildings, warehouses, and shopping complexes as good examples of structural steel fabrication applications. Stadium structures are one of the steels of the structure that is most prevalent and prefabricated concrete elements.
Fumati Engineers has shown their ingenuity, all fabrication was done offsite and connected on-site using bolt connections rivets and some welded components. Time was of the essence in this project, steel offers many advantages to construction that designers, engineers, and operatives. One of the key advantages is the speed at which a building can be constructed.
The predictability and quality of the steel components make it easier for trades to erect faster which allows the trades working on your project to get to work sooner. Such was the case of Fumati Engineers on the construction of the Heart Stadium.
The speed of steel and erection is often considered by most developers the best route as this leads to earlier project completion time, savings in site preliminaries, and earlier return on investment. Most commercial construction in Zimbabwe is not steel structure, engineers are distancing themselves from concrete structures which are mostly cumbersome and take time to structure rebars, pour concrete and wait for it to cure, the process is long and expensive. Design flexibility is limited when using concrete compared to steel.
The venue, which is named The Heart Stadium accommodates 5,000 sitting spectators. “The stadium will be expanded to over 40,000 seats in the future” says Prophet Magaya of Yadah Ministries.
Speaking ahead of the stadium’s official opening, Prophet Magaya said on was incredibly pleased with the performance of the steel frame contractor Fumati Engineers. He said in a Facebook post, “When we officially open The Heart Stadium, we are not merely making history, we are creating a better future. It’s a better future for our children, a beacon for generations to come, a testament to the goodness of God in our lives who has brought us this far.”
“We are not (only) making history, but we are starting a journey that will take us where God’s perfect will want us to be.”
Speaking to Tinashe Changweya, the CEO of Fumati Engineers, he expressed profound gratitude to Prophet Magaya for awarding them such an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities, they managed to deliver the project on time.
“At Fumati Engineers, we are beyond grateful for the extraordinary opportunity bestowed upon us by Prophet Magaya of PhD Ministries. The trust and confidence you placed in our expertise to handle the fabrication of a cutting-edge stadium are deeply appreciated.”
When Elevation News caught up with Changweya he said, the journey with this groundbreaking project involved meticulous attention to detail, especially in crafting the terrace structure and stadium seat stanchions. Each weld, every piece of steel, carried the weight of our commitment to excellence.
Changweya said, “Completing this state-of-the-art stadium marks a historic moment for Fumati Engineers. It is as a testament to our dedication to quality and precision in metal fabrication. This project has become a cornerstone in our portfolio, representing not just a construction feat but a collaborative achievement between our skilled team and the visionary leadership of Prophet Magaya.”
Changweya who was visibly filled with gratitude went on to say, “We want to express our deepest gratitude for allowing us to showcase our expertise on such a grand stage. This project has not only elevated our company’s profile but has also left a mark on the landscape of accomplishments in the field of steel fabrication.
He thanked Prophet Magaya, for selecting them to work on the project which they executed diligently. Fumati Engineers played a pivotal role in this significant infrastructure project. They look forward to more opportunities to collaborate with Yadah and Prophet Magaya on future projects that push the boundaries of innovation and excellence.
