Craig Chimtengo was born in Glennorah and grew up in Kuwadzana, Harare, Zimbabwe. His journey from a challenging upbringing to founding the successful Mr. Rocca brand is truly inspiring. Like many children in Africa, Craig faced difficulties growing up. From a young age, he was passionate about styling, often putting together outfits. This early passion was influenced by his grandfather, a tailor and coat maker, from whom Craig believes he inherited his love for fashion.
Finding one’s purpose is one thing, but pursuing it is another. Craig’s journey of self-discovery included significant struggles. Speaking on Trevor Ncube’s “In Conversation with Trevor,” he recounted his difficult times in London, where he was jobless and without proper documentation. During these tough moments, he found the inspiration to create Mr. Rocca, which has since become a successful brand.

Craig is the youngest of two siblings and is currently based in England. His bespoke two-piece suits start from $1,200, they are made from sustainably sourced materials from British, Italian, and Australian mills, offering luxurious quality. Mr. Rocca’s tailored suits are highly popular among high-net-worth individuals, including executives and business owners. Craig draws inspiration from designers like Tom Ford and tailors on Savile Row
Mr. Rocca aims to help individuals elevate their style and confidence through impeccable dressing. Recently, Craig launched new collections in Zimbabwe and plans to expand into South Africa, a major fashion hub in southern Africa, as well as the West African market. Craig’s personal touch extends to personally delivering suits to clients. He frequently travels to Zimbabwe and South Africa and ships his suits to countries like Canada, Ghana, Australia, and Wales.

Running a business involves many challenges, including long hours and time away from family. Craig credits his support system, particularly his wife and children, as essential to his success, calling them “the wind beneath my wings.” He believes in hard work and letting the results speak for themselves, a philosophy that many entrepreneurs find difficult to achieve.
Mr. Rocca has also started creating power suits for ambitious corporate executive women. Beyond his business acumen, Craig is a philanthropist. He runs the Stenom Foundation in Zimbabwe with his partner, which focuses on skills development and supporting marginalised social entrepreneurs. The foundation aims to break down barriers for black social entrepreneurs, helping them build sustainable businesses
In his pursuit of purpose, Craig is building a fashion empire. There is no doubt that Mr. Rocca will continue to grow and become a brand that lasts for generations.
