Meet Refiloe Nicolas Rantekoa, a young entrepreneur from Soweto, Gauteng, who turned his passion for business into a thriving enterprise. He is the founder of Borotho Bakery Enterprise Pty Ltd, a business that now produces over 1,000 loaves of high-quality bread every day and impacts the lives of more than 1,000 people in the community.
Refiloe’s journey began at the age of eight when he started selling goods to help support his family. Driven by a strong work ethic and a desire to create a better future, he took a bold step in 2016 by taking out a R50,000 loan to start Borotho Bakery after feeling unfulfilled in his career.
When he launched the business, production was modest, just 20 loaves a day with the help of one employee. However, through hard work and determination, the bakery grew steadily. By 2020, the business had expanded to employ over 25 people, and daily production had skyrocketed to more than 1,000 loaves.
Today, Borotho Bakery is known for its high-quality bread and has become a vital part of the Soweto community. The business supplies bread to local hospitals and supports numerous households, making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Refiloe’s story is a testament to the power of resilience and entrepreneurial spirit. From humble beginnings to leading a successful business, his journey shows that with vision and hard work, it’s possible to create a lasting impact on both business and community.
